The National Center for Innovation in Career and Technical Education (NCICTE) performs scientifically based research and evaluation to expand the understanding, increase the effectiveness, and improve the delivery of career and technical education (CTE). Center work is directed toward exploring the contribution that CTE can make to raising student engagement and achievement and improving student transitions from secondary to postsecondary education and work.

We encourage you to use this website to learn more about our research or to find related studies in our CTE resources section. Ultimately, we believe that research is only useful when it is applied. To support educators in translating research into action, we’re creating a series of online training modules that offer practical guidance for how you can translate Center studies for use in your own college, district, or school.

NCICTE draws on the expertise of nationally recognized education researchers and practitioners. Our team brings deep substantive knowledge of federal CTE policy and state and local practice gained from decades of involvement in national research and evaluation initiatives.
